Gemma Forest joined the HANNON LAW GROUP as an Associate in August of 2020, after serving as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Steven G. Salant, Associate Judge for the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Maryland. Gemma graduated from Boston University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Political Science and Psychology. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 2019, graduating cum laude. Gemma received the Columbus School of Law Alumni Association Award for her academic excellence and dedication to the law school, university, and community.
During law school, Gemma served as an Associate Editor for the Catholic University of America Law Review and as the Vice President of the Seigenthaler Sutherland Moot Court Competition, a competition focused on First Amendment issues. Gemma also participated in the Criminal Prosecution Clinic. There, she successfully litigated criminal misdemeanor trials in the Montgomery County District Court. In addition, Gemma interned at the United States Sentencing Commission Office of General Counsel and Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. She also served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Steven M. Wellner at the District of Columbia Superior Court.
