Talon Hurst began his legal career serving as an attorney in Columbus Community Legal Services, Low Income Tax Clinic, where he provided free consultations and representation to indigent members of the community in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, the United States Tax Court, and local tax authorities. Talon joined HANNON LAW GROUP as an associate in February 2016.
Talon received his law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in May 2014. During law school, Talon worked part-time as a law clerk at HANNON LAW GROUP and remained at the firm until graduation. In addition to his work at HANNON LAW GROUP, Talon served as a Student Attorney at the law school’s Consumer Protection Project, where he represented indigent residents of Maryland and the District of Columbia in consumer related matters such as tax controversy, fraud, debt collection, and bankruptcy. Notably, Talon successfully represented a client in a civil suit in Prince George’s County Circuit Court where the client was awarded a favorable default judgment. Talon also served as a Staff Associate on the CommLaw Conspectus: Journal of Communications Law and Policy in which two of his writings were selected for publication.
Prior to his legal studies, Talon earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
