HANNON LAW GROUP was founded in 2006 by J. Michael Hannon. Michael brought decades of legal experience — first as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, then as a partner at a mid-sized D.C. law firm — and began recruiting a team of lawyers who shared his vision of developing an exciting and diverse practice that could provide a full range of quality services to clients.
Our current practice involves a wide range of civil and criminal litigation. We also do transactional work to help clients navigate business relationships and government regulations. As panel counsel for the American Foreign Service Association and FOP Legal Plan, our lawyers represent Foreign Service Officers, Law Enforcement Officers and their labor unions. HANNON LAW GROUP also represents others in the private and public sectors in employment disputes, personal injury cases, malpractice cases, tax disputes, and criminal defense.
Our goal at HANNON LAW GROUP is to provide clients with personal attention and outstanding results. When you hire our firm, you will be represented by lawyers who have tried and won cases in local and federal courts, arbitrated and mediated disputes, and challenged some of the highest officials in government and business on behalf of their clients. But more than just litigators, our lawyers are counselors and trusted advisors who are approachable, responsible, and efficient.
HANNON LAW GROUP is committed to its local community. Since its founding, the firm has built strong community relationships through sponsorship of local Main Street organizations and legal representation of small businesses. Our lawyers also remain an active part of the legal community, supporting bar organizations and their common alma mater – The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law – through active engagement and mentoring.
From 2006 through 2015, HANNON LAW GROUP was located on the second floor of a historic row house in the Adams Morgan/DuPont Circle neighborhood.
In October 2015, the firm moved to a newly renovated Victorian row house in the beautiful Capitol Hill neighborhood.
